Luke Laretive from Seneca Financial Solutions spoke with ausbiz to give his top three stocks to buy, hold, or sell. Luke picks AUB Group (AUB) as a buy saying its outlook looks good for the next 12 to 18 months.
The company recently did an earnings upgrade which Luke said was positive to see and it excluded the tyres acquisition. Adding that the stock is very well-priced given the outlook of the company. Elders (ELD) is Luke’s pick for a hold saying the recent announcement of long-time CEO Mark Allison’s plans to retire and downgrades as a result of the excessive rain on the east coast has been disappointing for shareholders and it has seen the stock fall 15 to 20%. He says the business is on a structural growth trend though.
Finally, Luke says Commonwealth Bank (CBA) is a sell he says relative to the other three major banks there’s no reason to be paying that premium despite the ‘feel good factor’ attached to CBA. He doesn’t think a portfolio with just CBA would outperform a diversified portfolio.
